Modern kitchen in a traditional house?

What do you think of a remodeled kitchen with stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and modern cabinets when the rest of our house is decorated in a more traditional? Will it look out of place or is it OK to mix styles? (I do not really want a modern feel to the family room or dining room – just the kitchen) Thank you.

Of course you can, but I would like warn about the use of modern cupboards too,,,, stainless steel and granite are very traditional and look great with a more traditional firm.
