Is hard anodized aluminum pans harmful to birds?

Nope! The substance that makes some pots toxic to birds is Teflon, or non-stick coating. In case of overheating (eg letting a pot boil on the stove to dry), Teflon releases a toxic gas that destroys the lungs of birds and kills very quickly. If your hard anodized pan does not have Teflon or similar non-stick coating, it is very good for use around birds. If so, please be very, very cautious about using it, or replace, if possible. Teflon is also present in household appliances, such as some hair dryers, curlers, self-cleaning ovens, toasters, heaters and other appliances that heat up. Be careful when using any of these devices in the same house as the birds.

My stainless steel pans stick that is horribly hard-anodized?

I am preparing to replace my pots and pans, I think. I bought a really nice set of stainless steel cookware, Emeril brand, and they were very expensive. But it seems that when I cook, no matter how much oil or spray I use, everything sticks horribly! Immediately! It makes me so mad I just want to replace them. I do not know if it B / C I've washed in the dishwasher, but they do not work so great. Does anyone know why this is? I think the purchase of such Anodized hard now – from Cuisinart. Are they better stick with it? Are they safe for your health?

You need to lower the heat. Stainless steel is a very efficient conductor of heat, much more than many other materials. And because it is a completely flat surface (not the flat stick have 1,000 s of small indents in them) they are somewhat more likely to stick. try cooking with less time. For cleaning utensils Kitchen stainless steel, it is best to hand wash and if you get something that hand washing will not remove, get some Barkeeper's Friend. Do no scouring pads like Brillo or SOS! All they do is scratch. The bartender is cheap and works very well on anything metal. I nothing but stainless cookware. I had the anodizing and it was OK, but did not conduct heat as evenly than stainless steel. Just reduce your cooking time and it should go.
