Stainless is very difficult and frustrating to work if you have not used before. The plusses are, it lasts forever, Sears and it browns and goes gourmet in a skillet so can never match. This is the main downfall is that it sticks and simple tasks like eggs and grilled cheese may soon become the stuff of nightmares. Oils and butters are a must here. If you're more of a cook gourmet style, and you take this route, do not buy pots with plates on the bottom. They heat only the bottom evenly. Choose pots where the heat spread throughout the entire pan. Calphalon or tripling or allclad Henckel. Nonstick pans are usually hard anodized with nonstick coating. Find something better than Chintzy super Teflon, which soon disappears. Usually pans with Teflon pans are low quality to begin with. Nonstick will not enter or Brown correctly, but it cleans like a dream and is quite easy to cook.
