making pot stickers – the coverage is too small frying pan?

I make pot stickers at this time in a skillet and it says to cover. The coverage I have is too small for the top of the stove, but it fits perfectly into the bottom of the pan. Is it acceptable for coverage to reach the bottom of the skillet over medium heat while? The water in the pan is semi-hot, but not quite. THANK YOU! and help quickly please!

just use a piece of foil to cover it, if you do not use paper made a microwave plate throughout the pan. Do not let the cover touch the inside of the pot, esp if the glass. ps the film is much better at what now I am gone for lunch?
