food processor pie crust

What is a food processor? Preticularly for Pie Crusts

Well, I am trying to bake a pie. And before I mix everything up I need to know what a food processor is. HELP Fellow bakers. :]

It’s a small countertop appliance. If you don’t have one, you can sift your dry ingredients together and then use a pastry blender to cut in your fat (shortening or butter) and then use a fork to add the water. If you don’t have a pastry blender, you can use 2 knives holding one in each hand and criss crossing them through the fat and flour until it’s all crumbly and the fat is pea sized. Do this before adding the chilled water.

I have a food processor, but only use it about once a year other than the shredding attachment.

Enjoy your pie!
