<p>But, there is no reason you cannot have a hearty soup like this and still eat healthy.</p>

<p><strong>Ingredients</strong></p>
<p>1 tablespoon canola oil<br />
1 large onion. chopped<br />
2 cloves garlic, chopped<br />
1 large butternut squash (about 2 1/2 pounds)<br />
1-2 tablespoons of curry powder<br />
6 cups low sodium chicken broth or stock<br />
1/2 teaspoon salt<br />
2 tablespoons honey<br />
4 teaspoons plain nonfat yogurt</p>
<p>Heat the oil in a large soup pot.<br />
Add the onion and garlic and cook slowly till soft. Do not brown.<br />
Add the squash, broth, curry and salt and bring to boil.<br />
Reduce the heat and simmer until the squash is tender. About 20 minutes.</p>
<p>Remove from heat and add the honey.<br />
Purée with an immersion blender (if using a regular blender, do not fill the container more than half way&#8230; trust me <img src='http://www.thenetgourmet.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':-)' class='wp-smiley' /><br />
Season with salt if necessary.</p>
<p>Serve with a teaspoon of yogurt on top.</p>
<p>Serves 4</p>

<p> No you do not need meat to cover the exterior of May looks a bit dry, I turn over just a few minutes to fix the problem. If you have any vegetables in meat vegetables need not be covered because they take much longer to cook in a pot of meat. I cut my potatoes 1/4s in the kitchen to easy. </p>

<p>Ingredients<br />
2 tbsp olive oil<br />
1 clove garlic, chopped<br />
½ onion, sliced<br />
30g/1oz butter<br />
1 handful grated potato<br />
290ml/½ pint vegetable stock<br />
½ head broccoli, chopped<br />
75g/3oz stilton, cubed<br />
85ml/3fl oz double cream<br />
1 tsp thyme, chopped</p>
<p>Method<br />
1. Sauté the garlic and onion in the butter and oil for 2-3 minutes.<br />
2. Add the potato and stock and simmer for 7-8 minutes until the potato is tender.<br />
3. Add all the other ingredients and simmer for 2-3 minutes.<br />
4. Blend the soup in a food processor.<br />
5. Pour into a bowl and serve.</p>
<p>&#8230;but how do I make it with the added apple? Do I just add an apple? Or do I need to dispose of the potato?

<p>1 package of silken tofu (~12 oz)<br />
10 oz chocolate chips, about one small package. Many dark chocolate chips are vegan; check the ingredients though if this is a concern.<br />
3 tablespoons maple syrup<br />
1 tsp. vanilla extract; optional.<br />
Directions:</p>
<p>Blend tofu (preferably at room temperature) in food processor, blender, or with hand mixer until just smooth.<br />
In a double boiler, melt chocolate chips with a tablespoon or two of water over low heat. Stir constantly.<br />
Add maple syrup to melted chocolate and combine.<br />
Put chocolate &#038; syrup blend into processor and mix with tofu until creamy.<br />
Pour into very small serving dishes &#8211; this stuff is rich. Serve warm or chill until set&#8230;</p>

<p>It is not necessary but it does add a slightly different texture and sweetness to the recipe. It really doesn&#8217;t make much of a difference unless you have really strong tastebuds. </p>
<p>The non syrup recipe probably used a different subsitute such as brown sugar.</p>

<p> <i>I&#39;m on a diet this week just to eat</i> Fruit and vegetables (including beans), but no additives or salt, sugar, dairy products or cereals. I want amek delicious soup using herbs and do not salt. A person recipe? It is essentially a detox so please do not suggest that the use of salt, there was no reason to draft the question whether this would be the answer. </p>
<p> My mother-in-law is on a low &quot;all&quot; Food. I do this all the time but not a recipe, I add any type of vegetable as I can find (potatoes, carrots, shredded cabbage, celery), sliced onions, peppers and garlic, thyme pasta (i like speghetti) 1 can beans (your favorite kind) 1 box pumpkin puree or fresh if you like Mrs. Dash salt-free seasoning (optional) Note: Sometimes I go to the store and the Caribbean to add other ingredients like plantains, sweet potatoes, yams, etc. Try it, it&#39;s really good! </p>

<p>As the topic for my food technology project I have chosen to do healthy vegetarian savoury products. For one of my products I have chosen to make stuffed peppers and found a recipe which uses the following ingredients:</p>

- 1 courgette<br />
- 1 red onion<br />
- 75g bread crumbs (bread in the food processor)<br />
- 2 tsb mixed herbs<br />
- 125g mozzarella<br />
- grated parmesan<br />

<p>To get the high marks I have to show that I have adapted the recipe to fit my criteria better, I haven&#8217;t had a problem doing my other products but I can&#8217;t think of a way to make this one healthier though, any suggestions? I was thinking one thing I could do is make the breadcrumbs from wholemeal bread instead of white&#8230;would this still taste/look ok?<br />
I am doing vegetarians, not vegans. So I can use dairy products like cheese &#038; eggs. Just not any meat or fish products.

<p>Other breadcrumb alternatives are couscous, barley, or beans.  One problem with vegetarian diets is including enough protein.  This does not have a lot of protein in the dish, so I would look for protein including alternatives such as the beans.  Or you could use Grape Nuts or a similar type cereal which would give a good texture and make it more filling.  The olive oil is good; you could use grapeseed or flax oil for helping to reduce cholesterol more.</p>
<p>You could use reduced fat cheese or another type &#8211; generally the hardness of the cheese is related to the fat content.  You have not said which type of vegetarian diet you are targeting &#8211; different groups will not eat cheese or egg products.</p>
<p>Look at the vegetables and you will see they are similar in color &#8211; which often means similar nutrients.  Try adding spinach, some portabello mushrooms, or other colors, to increase the variety of nutrients.</p>
